Our Story

Two of our founders worked in their university dining hall, where they witnessed firsthand the inefficiencies and physically demanding nature of dishroom operations. Long hours handling dirty dishware revealed a clear need for automation across the entire process, not just one station.

Motivated to create a better solution, they founded Cleanslate Robotics in 2026 alongside a team of students from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Our Mission

To automate the commercial dishroom from dirty dishware input to sorted output. We are bringing scraping, washing, sanitation, waste handling, composting workflows, and dishware sorting into one intelligent system for high-volume food service operations.

Our Vision

A future where computer vision and robotics handle the dirtiest, most repetitive dishroom work—including separating food waste from trash—while people focus on safer, higher-value roles.
